About this resource
: Students work together to solve a problem and create a tool that can stack a group of cups into a pyramid. Students collaborate to devise a solution to the problem using rubber bands, string, and cups. Each person on the team must participate, no one can touch the cups. If the cups fall, then teams must start over. Work together by communicating and problem solving. Introduces the concepts of engineering a solution, cooperative teamwork, and being receptive to all ideas and solutions.
Groups should debrief afterward and discuss how they solved the problem. What worked? What didn't work? How were you able to come to an agreement and a solution?
Modifications for all Learners: Students can use assistive technology as needed.
