Young Inventors' Program: Meant to Invent, The

Developed for K-8 students, the program helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by challenging them invent solutions to everyday problems. The program encourages exploration and participation by those students who may not “fit the mold” for traditional sciences. Ongoing support is provided to teachers via a manual, training workshops, and outside sources to help weave the invention process—creativity and problem solving—into the classroom and after-school programs. A yearly celebration provides participating students a venue to showcase their creativity and compete for awards and recognition (AAS).
